Privacy Policy

Short version: Colony Scan is a fully offline, ad-free puzzle game. We do not collect personal information and do not require an account. The app sends anonymous operational diagnostics (game outcomes, error events — no personal data) to our own server to help us fix bugs.

1. Who we are

Colony Scan is developed and published by DojoLabz, an indie software studio. If you have questions about this policy, contact us at vishu.kv.dev@gmail.com.

2. Data we collect

Colony Scan does not collect personal information. Specifically:

  • No account or sign-in is required to play.
  • No name, email address, or device identifier is collected by us.
  • High scores and planet progression are stored locally on your device only. They are never sent to our servers.

Operational diagnostics

To help us identify and fix bugs, the app sends anonymous operational events to our own server. These events contain only:

  • Game outcome (win or loss)
  • Turn count and resources collected during that game
  • Difficulty and planet selected
  • Score save error codes

These events contain no personal data, no device identifiers, and no information that can identify you. They are used solely for app diagnostics and improvement.

3. Our diagnostics server

Operational diagnostic events are sent to a server we operate ourselves (hosted on AWS EC2). We do not use any third-party analytics platforms (no Firebase, no Mixpanel, no Amplitude). The data is stored in our own logging infrastructure (Grafana/Loki) and is not shared with any third party. Diagnostic logs are retained for 7 days and then automatically deleted.

4. Advertisements

Colony Scan currently contains no advertisements. The app is fully ad-free.

5. Children's privacy

Colony Scan is rated for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Because we collect no personal data ourselves and the app contains no advertising, it is safe for general use.

6. Data retention

We collect no personal data. Your local high scores and progression remain on your device until you uninstall the app or clear app data. Anonymous diagnostic logs on our server are retained for 7 days and then automatically deleted.

7. Your rights

We hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing to access, correct, or export on our end. Anonymous diagnostic logs cannot be attributed to an individual and are deleted automatically after 7 days.

8. Changes to this policy

If we add features that change our data practices (such as accounts, cloud saves, or advertising), we will update this policy and revise the effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
